Architect and designer Choi Ji-hye is from Republic of Korea. She studied metal art design and space design at Hongik University, and received a master's degree in Interior & Living Design from Domus Academy in Milan. She later interned with Milanese master designer Denis Santachiara and collaborated as a designer at the Migliore Servetto architectural studio for 10 years starting in 2007 until 2017.
In 2012, she was selected as a scholarship recipient by the Italian government, and she entered the doctoral program at the Department of Architecture and Urban Design at the Polytechnic of Milan, where she obtained her doctorate in 2018. She founded Magma Project and carried out various creative and research activities. From 2019 to 2024, she worked as a General Director of NMDS (NOROO Milan Design Studio). Currently she carries out design consulting, trend analysis, and exhibition design projects as Magma project director.
Paolo Calafiore is a Set Designer, Lighting Designer and Art Director. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, he then obtained a Master in Lighting Design and Light Technologies at the Polytechnic of Milan and a specialization in Computer Science applied to Set Design at the Academy of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. His sets have been produced by major Italian theaters including: Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Arena di Verona, Teatro Regio in Turin, Teatro Comunale in Ferrara. Since 2000 he has collaborated with cultural institutions and advertising, communication and events agencies, creating installations and installations in architecture and urban spaces.
His projects are characterized by a visual aesthetic generated by sophisticated and delicate balances, in which different design elements are crossed by a gaze that investigates and redesigns the space through scenography and installations made up of Light, Video Mapping, Laser, immaterial and fluid elements capable of capturing the essence of the spaces and subjects to dramatize and communicate. He is a contract professor of Lighting Engineering at the Brera Academy and the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna.
